Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
The descriptions of Memory Map, Outing Cards, in-app camera capture and iCloud backup apply to v1.5.0 and later. Earlier versions do not include these features.
Memories Pet Life respects your privacy. This policy explains how information is handled in the app.
Information we collect
The app does not collect personal information on a developer-operated server.
No account registration is required.
The app uses photos and videos explicitly selected by the user for on-device editing, saving, sharing, and draft saving.
The app does not use third-party advertising SDKs, analytics, or tracking.
Photos and videos
In v1.4.0 and later, the app requests access to your photo library so you can browse and choose photos and videos by album and capture date. In iOS/iPadOS, you can allow access to selected photos or your full library. The app displays media and metadata, such as capture dates, within the access you grant and uses the media you select for editing. You can change photo access in your device settings. Version 1.3.0 uses the system photo picker for media selection.
Frames, text, filters, date stamps, wallpapers, and calendar images are generated on your device. Saving a creation to Photos requires permission to add images or videos to your photo library.
If an original is stored in iCloud, the OS photo library services may download it to your device to open it. This is not an upload to the developer's servers.
Photos and videos selected by the user are used to create life log cards, save or share generated content, and save drafts. Selected photos may also be used for Pet Calendar entries, calendar images, and locally rendered images for Home Screen widgets.
Selected photos and videos, generated images and videos, and draft data are not uploaded to servers operated by the developer.
When a selected photo or video includes date or location metadata, the app may use that information to suggest an initial date or place text.
If location suggestions are enabled, the app may use GPS metadata from selected media to suggest a place name. Coordinates may be used by OS services for this conversion. This uses the media metadata, not the device's current location. You can disable location suggestions in the app Settings.
In v1.5.0, choosing to take a photo requests camera access. Current-location features in Memory Map request location permission as needed. Earlier versions do not use these permissions.
Temporary video files
For video editing, the app may copy the selected video to temporary storage on the device. Temporary files are stored locally and are excluded from iCloud backup where possible. They can also be deleted from the Settings screen.
Drafts
Drafts are saved when you choose to save them. They may include selected media, design, position and zoom, filter settings, date stamps, and entered text such as dates and places.
When a video draft is saved, the video file and thumbnail are stored locally on the device so the draft can be edited again later. Deleting a draft removes its data; media shared with other saved records may remain while those records need it.
Draft data is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to a developer-operated server. You can delete drafts in the app. Deleting the app also removes its locally stored data. Drafts do not support continuous sync between devices. In v1.5.0, saved drafts can be included in optional iCloud backup and restore described below.
Pet Calendar and widget data
Pet Calendar may store selected photos, registered dates, weather icons, and photo position adjustment data on your device.
Pet Calendar data is not sent to a developer-operated server.
For Home Screen widgets, the app may store locally rendered images and minimal display data in app group storage on your device.
Widget data is used to display Home Screen widgets and is not sent to a developer-operated server.
When you delete a calendar entry in the app, related stored data may also be deleted.
When you delete the app, data stored by this app on your device is deleted as well.
Pet Calendar does not support continuous sync between devices. In v1.5.0, calendar data can be included in optional iCloud backup and restore described below.
In-app announcements
The app may fetch a public announcement JSON file to display in-app announcements. This request does not upload user photos, videos, edits, drafts, user IDs, device IDs, or advertising IDs.
In-app purchases
In-app purchases for watermark-free export of card images, videos, and calendar images are processed by Apple through the App Store.
The app uses StoreKit to check purchase status for the 7-Day Pass and Lifetime Pass.
The developer does not receive your credit card numbers, bank account details, or Apple Account credentials. The app uses transaction information provided by Apple to determine whether watermark-free export is available.
Daily memory reminders and editing preferences (v1.4.0)
Reminders are off by default. If you enable them, the app requests notification permission and schedules local notifications on your device. To decide whether a reminder is needed, it records the days when you save or share a creation or record a calendar entry. Notification preferences, whether an invitation has been shown, and recent activity dates are stored on your device and are not sent to the developer's servers.
You can turn reminders off in the app Settings and change notification permissions in your device settings. The app also stores your last confirmed editing preferences locally for reuse in a later edit.
Support inquiries
If you contact us, we may use the email address, message, and device or app information you send to respond, investigate issues, verify the inquiry, and contact you as needed.
Sharing information
The developer does not sell users’ memories or publish them to other app users. Apple services, optional private iCloud backup and user-initiated sharing process information as described in this policy. Support inquiry information is not shared with other parties except where required by law.
Children's privacy
The app is not designed primarily for children and does not collect users' ages.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as needed. Important changes will be announced on this page.
Memory Map and location information (v1.5.0)
Memory Map stores the places you choose, photos and videos, capture dates, visit records and badges on your device. The app keeps copies of selected media so that you can continue viewing and editing them. Original media may contain metadata such as capture dates and GPS information.
The app uses Apple's mapping and location services to display maps, search for places and determine the country or region of selected locations. Search terms and selected coordinates may be processed by Apple to provide these features. Memory Map's region classification is separate from the photo editor setting that suggests a place from a photo's location metadata.
Show current location on map is on by default and can be turned off. When you open the Map tab, the app requests location permission as needed and obtains your current location once to show the surrounding area, regardless of this setting. Even when the setting is off, choosing the button to go to your location or the current-location option in place selection requests the necessary permission and obtains your location once. The app uses that location to display the map and help you select a place. Turning the setting off hides your location marker. Opening the Map tab still requests your location and moves the map to the surrounding area. The marker remains hidden after you explicitly move the map to your location. Saved memory locations remain visible. The app does not continuously track your movements or request your current location in the background. You can select a place through search or map interaction without granting current-location permission.
iCloud backup (v1.5.0)
The app's own iCloud backup is used when you enable it. It stores Memory Map records, calendar data, saved image/video/outing-card drafts, supported app settings and the necessary media in your private iCloud database. Successfully staged pending registrations are also included. Backup-source identifiers, device names, creation dates and related information are stored to manage backups.
This feature provides backup and restoration, rather than continuous synchronization between devices. It does not publish your records to other app users. The developer cannot view your private database content through the CloudKit developer console.
Separately, app data may be included in the operating system's device backups, depending on your device settings.
Deleting data (v1.5.0)
Deleting a memory may leave place information, badge award history, separately saved editing drafts and copies in your photo library. Delete drafts and photo-library copies from their respective storage locations.
Turning off iCloud backup does not delete existing backups. Use the app's backup-deletion control to delete its stored cloud backups. Deleting a local record may not immediately update an existing backup. Data stored under another backup source and operating-system backups are managed separately. Uninstalling the app does not delete cloud backups.
Sharing outing cards (v1.5.0)
An outing card is exported when you choose to save or share it. Exported cards do not contain GPS or Exif metadata. However, any enabled place name, visit date, visit information and badge are part of the image and are sent to the destination you select. You can review the preview before sharing. The destination service's terms and privacy policy apply after sharing.
